He was also known for his actions, which often caused trouble for him. The most famous incident occurred when he was put on trial for impiety and corrupting the youth of Athens. Meletus said to Socrates, “…you do not believe in Gods at all.” (Apology 26c) But that he believes the sun and moon are stones like the earth, which is the works of a Greek philosopher named Anaxagoras.
